Barrel shaped, and simple roof lines were used in the massing to blend the structure with the existing ranch style old homes in the neighborhood. The program included four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, two family rooms, formal dining and living rooms. This down sloped lot featured views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay and the Sausalito Harbor. A creek which ran through the property presented both a unique design opportunity as well as a challenge in terms of meeting the local environmental protection guidelines. Grading and a series of short retaining walls were utilized to create outdoor living spaces.
